My personal January Theme... daily ritual.

I write this now at the closing of the month and year 2018. For the first time in many months I was not inspired to focus on a personal theme throughout December. In hindsight I see that for me it has been a hectic, sleepless and fast moving month, and I am pleased I didn't have a theme focus.

As I wind up December I am inspired to bring more daily ritual into my life for January. This will especially be focused around (but not limited to) body movement, meditation, breathwork, celebration, dance, smudging and sunrise connection.

My aim in doing this is to help me stay focused and connected with my body, breath and the present moment. When I am busy the first thing I neglect is my body and I become very mentally driven, so I'd like to calm that down and celebrate my physical body, breath and this precious moment more in January.

I intend to be flexible with these ritual connections - based on how my body feels. Most will be done as the sun rises (my favourite time of the day). I'll listen to my favourite song that day and allow that to help me connect, heal and lift up. I also intend to drum, listen and connect more.

Although I am flexible, I will not put this off... At some point of the day I will dedicate to my daily ritual and see how it evolves.

I've made a a little reminder on my daily schedule plan and will make the effort to do this.

I have already started - as I will not wait until the 1st of January if I am feeling the inspiration to do it immediately.

Today I focused on 30mins of Tai Chi and am now listening to my favourite music currently.

What are your thoughts on this? Will you focus on a theme for January? If so, what will it be? How will you embody, learn and improve who you are with this focus?

If you're not sure what to focus on for your theme, perhaps consider what you've been struggling with lately or have been curious about - and see if you can point it back to a word or two which can become a focal point for your forward movement during this coming month.

I'll check in with you on this around mid-January.
